Dance!

Berkley Dance Term Three 2016

Where: Rec. Centre,

When: 25th August, 7-­9pm

Before the Dance

There will be a meeting held in Break 2 a couple of days before the dance, so that we can clearly spell out the expectations that come with attending the dance. This meeting is compulsory for students considering attending.

On the Night

Students bring their signed ticket and $5.00 (preferably with the correct change) and line up out the front of the Rec. Centre. Do not  be early! The doors won’t open until 7, so you will be an awkward turtle if you are too early.

If you do not have your ticket, or it’s not signed by a parent/guardian, we can’t let you in and will need to ring your parents or guardian.

There will be chips and drinks available to buy throughout the night, and water from the fountain is free.

Food and drink must be finished off outside where there will be a coned off area on the turf. No eating inside.

Dance Rules and Information

Our dance protocol is that if you are asked by someone to dance, you must say “yes” the first time. If they ask you again, you can politely decline their request.

There will be line dancing, waltzing and spot prizes. Some dances are learnt in PE before hand.

At 9pm, the parents will be let into the Rec. Centre (from the turf side) to find you to take you home.

Parents: it would be good to be prepared for parking, so try and find a park early so that you can easily come and pick up your child/ren. No students are to leave the building unless accompanied by an adult.

Students are not permitted to bring bags or mobile phones/devices. There will be no need for you to ring parents to make arrangements, the dance will finish at 9pm. Flat soled shoes only (no heels).

Other Things to Note

This is a social dance, it is not a formal occasion. It is not a time to get hair or make­up done professionally. There is a formal dance at the end of the year, with a few differences. So please save your pennies for the end of year dance.
