Final Post!

What an amazing year it has been!  It really has flown by.

I've really enjoyed having you all in Room 1, and I hope you all had as much fun as I did. You are a super special bunch, and will not be forgotten!

I will keep this blog open, so if you ever want to stop by and drop a note, I'll be sure to respond.

Keep your blogs going, I would love to see what you get up to over the next year.

Sayonara and have a fabulous 2017!
Miss van de Ven

Want to be awesome and learn a local haka?

Tau Ka Tau originates from a traditional haka that is common to the Waikato area. From the translations, we could assume that this is a poowhiri haka (haka of welcome).  However, as we have learnt, haka is about community, strength and unity, therefore could be performed to serve other purposes too.

Tau ka tau!!!
Hiii
Tau ka tau!!!
Hii
Tau ka tau!!!

Ki runga o Waikato whāngaia mai rā
Nge nge ngeee
Arā tu arā te arā tau
i tahi ka riri, toru ka whā!!
Homai o kupu kia wetewetea, wetewetea,
arā tuu arā te arā tau
hiii

Descending/ approaching
Descending/ approaching
Descending upon Waikato, who await you here
And prepare for your arrival
There will be continuous battle
Give me your threats and I shall make short work of them, in the heat of battle
